Well, tried this on three computers now. The first is my lab-pc, a Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook running WIN10 PRO, 32bit OS. Intel Celeron 900 @2.2GHz, 2GB RAM. This PC was updated from VISTA. This PC will NOT run Spike. It runs all my other apps (Tektronix TDS-2022B control, Rigol DSA-815TG control, Array Solutions VNAuhf & AIMuhf control, Elecraft XG3 & KX3 interface and control).
Next is my wife’s notebook: Toshiba Satellite C55-6 running WIN10, 64bit OS. Intel Celeron n2830 @ 2.16GHz & 2GB RAM. Updated from WIN8.1. This runs Spike just fine.
Last is my desktop: HP Pavilion running WIN8.1, 32bit OS. AMD Athlon 64×2 dual core processor @ 2.8GHz, 3GB RAM. This has GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 graphics and is not supported by WIN10 (the reason I haven’t upgraded to WIN10). Updated from VISTA. This PC runs Spike fine as well.
All computers have the latest software and driver updates. It is inconvenient that I cannot run Spike on my lab-pc where I have all my test equipment and signal generators available – but looks like I’ll have t transfer the equipment to the room with my desktop. As I am doing a product review for QST, I do want to run the latest Spike software.
